European Magic Cup

Around 150-200 of the best European Magic players will qualify for this €20'000 prize event in Bologna, Italy Q1 2026. The event date and location is going to be announced soon and it's likely in mid/end of February 2026.

The European Magic Cup features a unique structure that allows qualified players to participate alone or in a team. The entry fee is €40 per player for both days.

Day 1 - Individual

The first day of the European Magic Cup will feature 3 separate main events each with €4'000 in prizes.

Qualified players choose their favorite format among Modern, Standard and Pauper.

Day 2 - Team Trios

On the second day of the European Magic Cup, qualified players will form national teams trios to compete for €8'000 in prizes.

The Swiss round structure will be Team Sealed followed by a top 8 in Team Trios (Modern, Standard, Pauper).

Forming teams

Qualified players can freely choose their teammates as long as:

  • All members are qualified and represent the same country
  • Each member played a different format on Day 1

Note, most nations will have multiple teams.

Qualified players that don't manage to find a team will receive a free side event ticket. There will be plenty of EUL Qualifiers and alike to choose from!

Team score

The team score considered for the top 8 cut is defined as follows:

  • The individual points of each team member's match points from the day 1 main event.
  • The match points of the team multiplied by 3.

Example: If the Modern player of the team achieved 15 points, the Standard player 12 points and the Pauper player 3 points, that's a total of 30 points from day one. If the team achieved 7 match points in the team sealed portion of day two, then that's 7*3=21 additional points. In total the team score will be 51.
